I have had very bad acne for over 10 years now. It all started when I was in my early teens, before then I had never really noticed any issues with my face or complexion at all. As I entered into high school I would slowly start to see little breakouts appearing over time. I was always very active and played sports like volleyball and tennis during high school, and as my acne got worse, I always just chalked it up to the training and the constant sweating during practice. I was able to manage it pretty well until graduation, but by the time I entered college it had gotten much worse and was nearly impossible to contend with. Whatever over the counter cleansers and medications I had tried just weren’t having any type of effect anymore, and it honestly seemed to make things worse. My face would get red and become irritated over time – only making things worse and worse. I had sought some treatment from dermatologists in the past, but never really saw any results, and it made me stop visiting them soon after. It honestly wasn’t until I was recommended Dr. Alan Kling that I finally saw the results I have been after for years, and this was my experience.
From everything I had read online about Dr. Kling, and seeing that he had been practicing for a while and was an expert in treating acne issues I couldn’t help but be excited and hopeful. From the moment I entered the practice, I was impressed by how nice the office was and how clean and well kept it was. I am from Queens, NY, and had only ever been to doctor’s in my home borough, and none of them were anywhere near as nice or as professional as this office. Dr. Kling’s front desk staff was very cordial and helpful in every regard. The waiting area was nice, and I felt comfortable enough to pull my laptop out and actually get some work done while I waited – which wasn’t very long at all I might add!
After a short wait, I was called and entered the office. The patient rooms were also very nice, and just as I pictured they would be from a high end Manhattan Dermatology office. Dr. Kling was nothing but professional from the start, and he was nothing like any of other dermatologists I had been to before. He seemed so confident and knowledgeable about my issues, and while others might have actually been intimidated by how bad my acne might have been in years past, he acted like he had seen issues like mine dozens of times. Despite the confidence though, dealing with these issues since I was 14, and being 23 now, and my acne never having been worse, I was still skeptical, but hopeful. He did some analysis on my skin and made a few comments asking about what things I had tried in the past, and what type of products I had been using. A few of the items I mentioned, he told me to stop right away, and he would make some recommendations. He wrote me some prescriptions for certain topicals and recommended we perform a treatment, and while I thought he meant I would have to come back in a few weeks, he was ready to do it now – which had me very excited. We performed a topical peel treatment with benzoyl peroxide, and while I didn’t notice much at first, he asked that I come back later on in the month and we perform another one. All in all, its been 4 months being under the treatment of Dr. Kling and I can’t explain how good my skin looks right now! I would say 85% of my acne is gone, and we are still working towards better results. We are looking to tackle some of my acne scars next, but all my friends and family are complimenting me every day and I look like a brand new person! Dr. Kling is honestly a miracle worker and has single handedly saved my skin!
