Sandra Kopp, MD founded Nova Dermatology with a simple vision- to provide high-quality compassionate dermatologic care for the whole family. Dr. Kopp is an experienced board-certified dermatologist who specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology for all ages and skin types. At Nova Dermatology, we understand how distressing skin changes can be and strive to tailor each and every patients’ treatment regimen to fit their unique dermatological needs. We believe that patients should play an active role in their medical care, and focus on prevention and education. Dr. Kopp’s approach to cosmetic dermatology is multifaceted- targeting the many aspects of aging (discolorations, texture change, volume loss/elasticity) to enhance, not change, ones’ natural beauty.
Dr. Kopp earned her B.S/M.S. in Biochemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Lehigh University. Upon graduation she entered UMDNJ-RWJ Medical School where she was inducted into the elite Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. After her internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan, she completed her Dermatology Residency at UMDNJ-RWJMS in Camden, NJ, serving as chief resident in her final year. She then returned to New York City and was Assistant Clinical Professor at Mt Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Kopp has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters for the leading dermatology reference books and has been referenced in popular magazines such as Allure and New Beauty. She was awarded New York Super Doctors® Rising Star in 2017, as well as being recognized as a Top Doctor in 2019-2022 by both Castle Connolly and Jersey’s Best. Since relocating to South Jersey in November 2019 she has been awarded South Jersey Magazine’s Top Physicians of 2020 and 2021, South Jersey Magazine’s Top Physicians for Women 2021, Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine 2020 and 2021, and Castle Connolly Top Doctors 2022. She is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Medical Association, and the International Society of Dermatology. In addition, Dr. Kopp is on staff at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. Though an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and against her family’s wishes, she acted as a consulting dermatologist for the New York Rangers.
Dr. Kopp has a unique interest in global health, specifically international dermatology, infectious disease, and telemedicine. She has worked in Africa, Europe, and Central and South America. She received the American Academy of Dermatology International Resident’s Grant to practice dermatology in Botswana and was fortunate to be accepted into the prestigious Gorgas Course in Lima, Peru. After graduation, she was chosen to participate in the “Passion to Heal” Initiative with a team of leading dermatologists in Narok, Kenya.
After many years of experience in Manhattan, Dr Kopp has returned to her native South Jersey and is excited to bring a fresh perspective to the region.
